Little is known about the movie’s plot, however. During an interview with HeyUGuys in November 2016, Renner said, “If I knew anything I still couldn’t tell you, but I don’t know anything.” He later joked: “I can’t tell you. What if I’m dead in the first one?”
This much is known: Every movie in the Avengers series has been a blockbuster. Marvel’s “Avengers” is the No. 5 worldwide grossing film of all time, and “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is close behind at No. 7. Hawkeye also appeared in “Captain America: Civil War,” which is No. 12. Those three movies grossed a combined $4.07 billion in worldwide box-office sales.
Archery fans are anticipating which bow Hawkeye will use to save the world in “Infinity War.” In “Age of Ultron,” Hawkeye used a Game Master II recurve. In “Avengers,” he used a Hoyt Buffalo to fight off Loki and his army of aliens. Hawkeye obviously likes Hoyt recurves, so maybe we’ll see him shooting the new 2017 Hoyt Satori recurve, which debuted at the 2017 ATA Trade Show.
In “Captain America: Civil War,” he shot a Win&Win Rapido recurve bow. If he sticks with Win&Win, he might shoot the Black Wolf recurve, which features a carbon-fiber riser. Hawkeye has also dabbled in compound bows like the Mathews he shot in “Thor.”
Starring alongside Hawkeye is real-life archer and bowhunter Chris Pratt as Star-Lord. This character, from “Guardians of the Galaxy,” is new to the “Avengers.” Pratt is an avid outdoorsman, and restricted himself to eating wild-game meat for a year, a diet he called “The Game Plan.”
That diet of lean wild meat helped transform Pratt from a squishy comical character in “Parks and Rec” to an interstellar crime-fighting hero in “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Pratt is open about his love for the outdoors. “Hunting, fishing and being outdoors with my friends and family is how I spent my free time as a young’n,” he said via instagram. “That part of me will never change.”
Will Pratt take his love of bowhunting to the big screen? And will the world’s greatest archer choose a recurve bow or compound bow for “Avengers: Infinity War Part 1”? We’ll have to wait until the first official trailer drops.
“Avengers: Infinity War Part 1” hits theaters May 4, 2018.
